Download Satinsmith 1.1.0
Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally on your Mac. The free tier opens and views your designs; a license unlocks the paid tools in the same app, with nothing else to install.
Open the downloaded DMG, drag Satinsmith to Applications, then open it from Applications. Eject the disk image when copying finishes. Updating? Quit Satinsmith before replacing it.

The included collection has original fonts, six OFL-derived fonts from Studio upward, and 36 source motifs arranged into 60 cumulative designs/templates. Credits and license terms are included. Import fonts and thread charts you have rights to use; no additional paid asset library is required. Output is checked in software, with no physical-machine or sew-out certification claimed.

Can I use Satinsmith without Windows?
Yes. Satinsmith is a native Mac app for macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). It does not require Windows, a virtual machine or a dongle. Intel Macs are not supported.
What can I do for free?
Browse and preview your embroidery library, view designs, open the guided sample project, edit the bundled showcase design on the canvas and export up to five designs per month, for as long as you like. Download Satinsmith to try your own files before you buy.
How do I buy the editing and digitizing tools?
Choose a plan under Pricing. Checkout is handled by Freemius, and your license key arrives by email; enter it in Satinsmith under Settings › License. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription. To try the paid tools first, get a free evaluation key by email.
What if I buy it and it does not work for me?
Every paid plan comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If something is wrong in the first 30 days, tell us: we will try to put it right and consider offering a 100% refund if you are unhappy or have an issue we cannot resolve. It is not an automatic no-questions-asked refund — we would rather fix the problem — so give us the chance to. The exact terms are on the licence & guarantee page. The free tier lets you open your own files and see how they work before you pay anything.
Will every embroidery file work with my machine?
Compatibility depends on the file format, its version and your machine. Opening a design does not guarantee that it will sew correctly. Check hoop size and machine requirements, review the preview and test on scrap fabric before stitching a final piece. The format table lists what each format supports.
